Binxin heads the patent team and oversees his clients’ business operations and commercial growth in China and overseas, delivering practical and comprehensive solutions that utilize his clients’ IP assets as well as advising on the prevention of potential legal risks. He advises multinational and domestic companies in the pharmaceutical, chemical, mechanical, telecommunication and entertainment industries on complex IP issues related to IP enforcement, IP filing, IP portfolio management and technology transfers.
He has represented: a well-known company in a chemical process patent infringement lawsuit in China, and successfully obtained a preliminary injunction for the client; a company to successfully obtain Customs IP Protection; multiple international companies in a series of trade secret misappropriation and patent disputes cases; a leading international biotechnology company on PRC IP issues in a major merge and acquisition; several domestic technology companies in unfair competition cases in China; Defended a company in a domain name dispute involving a domain name valued at over USD 600,000 before WIPO; several major industrial associations on commenting on IP legislation proposals in China;
He has been recognized as “Client Choice Top 20 Lawyers in China” by Asian Legal Business in 2015 and 2016.
Education and admission
Binxin graduated from Peking University with a B.Sc. (2006), from University of Toronto with an M.Sc. (2008) and from University of California at Berkeley with an LL.M. (2014). He holds both PRC legal qualification certificate and PRC Patent qualification certificate.
